The particle size of various cosmetics has a significant impact on their use effects as follows:
Cream cosmetics
Lotion:The particle size of oil droplets in lotion has a significant impact on product stability and skin quality. Usually, the average particle size of oil droplets in lotion-type lotions is 0.1 - 1 micron. This small-particle size lotion has a light texture and is easily absorbed, making it suitable for oily and mixed skin types. The particle size of the oil droplets of moist lotion may be slightly larger, ranging from 1 to 10 microns, which can provide higher moisturization and is suitable for dry skin.
Sunscreen: Traditional inorganic sunscreens (such as titanium dioxide, zinc oxide), when adding physical sunscreen ingredients (greater than 100 nanometers), mainly through sun protection and sun protection, but may cause skin whitening. In order to reduce the whitening phenomenon and improve the feeling of use, ultra-high-grade sunscreen particles (10-100 nanoparticles) are gradually being widely used. They can not only effectively absorb and prevent sunscreen, but also make sunscreen products more natural to use. However, the possible safety issues of nanoparticles (such as potential skin dryness) have therefore attracted attention, and strict standards are required for their use.
Powder cosmetics
Foundation:For foundations that pursue a light and natural makeup effect, the powder particles are mostly required to be fine, and the average particle size is usually controlled between 1 and 10 microns. For example, for some liquid foundations that focus on the concept of "nude makeup", in order to achieve a delicate and smooth skin effect, more than 90% of their powder particles may be in this range. Foundations that emphasize high concentration of flaws allow for slightly larger particles, and some powder particles may be 10-30 microns to enhance the ability to cover flaws.
Main loose powder: used for setting makeup, the particles are required to be fine, and the average particle size is usually 5-20 microns. This can ensure that the loose powder is evenly adsorbed on the skin surface, effectively controls oil and does not affect the appearance of the base makeup. For example, a high-quality setting powder has the particle distribution center in this range, which can make the makeup look silky and dry.
pressed powder: Particle size is generally 10 - 40 microns. The appropriate particle size can not only ensure that the powder cake has good compression moldability, but also can spread evenly when applied, providing appropriate covering and makeup setting effects.
Spray cosmetics
Antiperspirants and hairspray are classic examples. If the antiperspirant particle size is too small, it will not be able to clog the pores on your skin and stop sweating. The holding power (hardness) of hairspray is directly dependent on the particle size of the gel produced in the jar of hairspray. And the particle size of the hairspray should not be too small, otherwise the hairspray will be inhaled into the user's body and cause harm.
